The Annual Julie Jacks Bluegrass Festival is a charity event sponsored by the IBPO in the memory of Julie Jacks with 100% of the proceeds going to the "Julie Jacks Scholarship Fund". The Julie Jacks Scholarship fund awards scholarships to the children of Officers in the Hamilton County area. The festival includes good music, good food, games, crafts and other fun activities.

Football season is a great time for get-togethers, especially in the South! IBPO Local 673 hosted a "tailgate party" for the UTC-Furman game at the Tennessee Pavillion in Chattanooga on September 12, 2009. Many Police Officers, Fire-Fighters, their guests, friends and family members, as well as a few City Council members and their families, and our IBPO Rep from Atlanta, Marc Lawson, showed up for the festivities. After some mingling and great food, a walk across the street to the game made for a wonderful day for all involved.

This year's festival, which was our 3rd, was held at Ross's Landing in Chattanooga on October 24. The music, food and fun were better than ever, and again, 100% of the proceeds went to the Julie Jacks Memorial Scholarship Fund. We are already looking forward to next year's festival...hope to see you there!

Once a year, Harrison Lodge #114 host a car show and donates 100% of the proceeds to Special Education programs for children in Hamilton County Schools. 2010 was a rousing success and we'd like to thank Harrison Lodge for allowing us to be a part of this car show, and the community and surrounding areas that helped with raising this money. This year, just over $10,000 was raised that will go to Hamilton County Special Education Programs, making this by far the car show's best year to date!! Thanks to all for helping us help these children who otherwise would come up short on materials, supplies and other things that they will need for the upcoming school year!
